Pre-Trip

Pre-trip Process for Participants
(Must complete at least one (1) month before start date)
• Choose program, start date end date
• Apply online (fill out online application)
• Send deposit of USD 200 (please e-mail us for directions)
• Book flight
• Obtain Passport (valid for at least next 6 months)
• Obtain VISA for Ghana
• Visit Travel doctor for vaccinations and health advice
• Yellow Fever Vaccination is required / generally, the following Immunizations are recommended: Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Measles, Polio, Anti-malaria medication, Rabies (Not essential but recommended if you expect to come into contact with wild animals or a placement working with animals), Typhoid. (Note: Visit a physician who specializes in international travel at least a month, if not longer,
prior to your trip).
• Tell us any dietary requirements
• Tell us any medical conditions
• Register online with embassy
• Pay Full Balance of Program Fee (please e-mail us for directions)
Medical Volunteers
• Medical and nursing students must send us a letter from their school advisor confirming enrolment status.
• Doctors and nurses should send us a copy of their medical or nursing license.
